β¦ What Reviewers Actually Say
AI SummaryWest Mountain Veterinary Hospital has a mixed reputation across routine and emergency care. Many customers praise individual staff membersβparticularly groomer Krista and veterinarians like Dr. Cook, Dr. Caron, and Emmaβfor compassion and quality work, with one reviewer recounting exceptional after-hours effort during a medical crisis. However, communication and billing problems emerge as real concerns: one customer reported dramatic, unexplained cost increases during emergency surgery without clear updates about their dog's deteriorating condition or what services were actually being provided, and another had a serious misdiagnosis of an exotic pet (bunny abscess misidentified as an air pocket) that led to delayed emergency care elsewhere. The hospital's ability to handle exotic pets and manage complex cases with clear patient communication appears inconsistent.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Emma and Dr. Caron. Anyone who has ever had a beloved pet go through a medical crisis knows how helpless and desperate it can feel when your pet is suffering and time is running out. That was the situation I found myself in recently with my bulldog, Twyla. Emma listened to me with incredible compassion and kindness. She understood how serious the situation was and how much my dog was struggling. Even though the veterinarian had already left for the day and the clinic was approaching closing time, she refused to simply give up when obstacles came up. Instead, she kept looking for solutions. After learning that the medication wasn't available at the first pharmacy, she worked with me while I called around trying to locate it elsewhere. Once I finally found a pharmacy that had it in stock, Emma continued working on the issue even though the clinic was closing. When an unexpected problem came up that prevented her from finishing the process before closing time, she went far beyond anything I would have expected. She arranged to speak with Dr. Caron after hours, and after obtaining the information she needed, she actually returned to the clinic to complete everything so my dog would not have to go without the medication. I was overwhelmed by her willingness to do that. She had absolutely no obligation to go to those lengths, yet she did it because she genuinely cared about an animal that was suffering and an owner who was terrified of losing her. Dr. Caron deserves recognition as well. He approved the medication and supported the effort to make sure Twyla received the care she needed. I am deeply grateful for his help. What Emma did meant more to me than I can adequately express. Her compassion, determination, and willingness to go above and beyond brought tears to my eyes. She helped spare my dog from tremendous suffering and gave us a chance to get through an incredibly difficult situation. Veterinary medicine is not just about medical knowledge. It is also about compassion, empathy, and caring enough to keep trying when it would be easier to say no. Emma demonstrated all of those qualities. She is exactly the kind of person every pet owner hopes will be there when their animal needs help. Thank you, Emma. I will never forget what you did for Twyla.
Great people. Treated my 3 dogs and were super nice and communicative. My strongest praise for them. I wish I lived closer so they could care for mine everyday.
