Stay here! Well run, clean quiet rooms. Pool. Most rooms around the back have views. Breakfast 7-11am; dinner 5-8pm Be advised separate payment systems from room. Avocado πŸ₯‘ toast $12. For $4 more, can add two eggs 🍳. Some additions since last visitβ€”a brand new gym, Sporto dads will like this. Also same day reservations llama and horse rides right out back. Walking distance to another restaurant across the street (a higher end experience). Caution crossing the road with elders and little ones, especially at night *no crosswalk and it is dark*. Overall a solid value. prime location to Capitol Reef/Fruita magic hour @ sunset don’t miss it.

My family of four stayed in a double queen room at Capitol Reef Resort for two nights. The resort is perfectly location for exploring Capitol Reef National Park. It only took about 10 minutes to get from the resort to the visitor's center. We loved the location of the resort, and the fact that our balcony looked out over the beautiful cocoa-red cliffs. One of my favorite things was sitting on the balcony with a cup of coffee, watching the sun rise. Our kids loved the saltwater pool, and we enjoyed exploring the resort as well. It was awesome to be able to visit the llamas and horses, and you could tell they were all very well cared for. We also took advantage of the on-site campfire, where we roasted marshmallows and made s'mores. We brought our own supplies with us, but the gift shop sells kits as well. Overall, I would highly recommend staying here while exploring the Capitol Reef area.

Sitting on a back porch with high-quality furniture and a grill and having a drink while looking at the scenery puts this place at five stars. In other ways it deserves 3-4. The cabin was very clean, but it is tiny and somewhat dated. My biggest complaint was the long walk from parking to the cabin after long days of hiking. However, they do offer a golf cart for luggage transportation and the staff were very kind. We took a llama hike through the property which was awesome. The restaurant was alright. The location is wonderful. Overall, I believe I would stay again and that if you are fine with tight quarters and extra walking it’s a great stay.

What reviewers mention Β· AI summary

Capitol Reef Resort benefits from an excellent location near Capitol Reef National Park with clean rooms, good on-site amenities (pool, llamas, horses, restaurant), and generally attentive staffβ€”most guests are satisfied. The main trade-offs visitors should know about are that some cabins are small and dated with potentially lengthy walks from parking, and on-site dining operates on a separate payment system with limited hours (breakfast 7–11am, dinner 5–8pm); a small number of reviews also note AC issues, though the property has responded quickly when reported.
